Orange has announced the launch of High Definition Voice Calling for Business, which marks the biggest advance in voice calls for 20 years.
The new service brings improved call clarity and a reduction in background noise to mobile calls. Research conducted by Orange showed that people routinely hang up calls or struggle with calls due to background noise or bad call clarity and this is there response.
Orange HD Voice reduces the perceived distance between callers, making it easier to hear the emotion in peoples voices. Background noise is also vastly improved with the new service.
As well as helping businesses its thought the new service will be beneficial to broadcasting companies with the BBC trialling the new technology as a low cost alternative for reports and to conduct interviews.
The HD Voice service is currently available on the Nokia E5 and Samsung Omnia Pro 5230 handsets and will be coming to more mobiles very soon. There is no extra cost associated with Orange HD Voice.
