Late last month we brought you news that the Huawei Ideos would be launching on September 2nd, but it seems this information may have been incorrect.

The Huawei Ideos is a smartphone that runs on Android 2.2 and aims to bring smartphones to a lower price-point without sacrificing on quality.

The specification of the mobile includes  a 2.8 inch touch-screen, 3.2 mega-pixel camera, built-in GPS and 512mb of onboard memory. It is powered by a 500 MHz mobile processor and has both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

As the mobile runs on Android 2.2 it means you can setup your own personal Wi-Fi network, install apps on microSD cards and install all the latest Android applications.

The Huawei Ideos will be available in a choice of colours which are black, yellow, blue and purple and will cost around £100 - £120. The launch is expected to be the middle of October.
