Google Maps For Android Gets Walking Mode
![]() |
Google has updated its Google Maps software for Android to version 4.5 ,which brings a number of improvements to the popular satellite navigation software.
The new version is currently in beta and the main addition is the inclusion of a Walking Navigation Tool. The new tool enables walker to get turn-by-turn navigation on well-known pedestrian pathways , which is a very useful addition in our eyes.
When walking your mobile will vibrate to alert you when you need to turn if you don't want to listen to the voice instructions. Google has issues a warning to users to remember to look where they are going when using the application.
Street view has also been improved and a new search bar has been added which enables quick searching.
All users running mobiles on Android 1.6 or later can download the application free from the Android Market right now.
