The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is now available to pre-order from Vodafone with the shipping date confirmed as the 27th September.

The Touch 9800 is an important mobile to BlackBerry because its the first of their mobiles to have a sliding QWERTY keyboard and it also marks the launch of BlackBerry OS 6.

BlackBerry OS 6 signifies a move away from the business clientele that BlackBerry usually attracts and more towards the social networking and personal market, however it still maintains its business features.

In terms of specification the Torch 9800 has a 3.2 inch touch-screen, 5 mega-pixel camera with flash, 512MB of onboard memory and microSD support. It also has an FM radio, MP3 player and supports both 3G and WiFi.
