Apple Confirm iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 Details !

Apple has released details about the new upcoming updates to its iOS 4 operating system.

 

Next week iPhone, iPad and iPod users will be able to update to the latest version iOS 4.1, which will bring a number of improvements.

 

iOS 4.1 will bring support for HDR (High-Dynamic Range) photos, which is where 3 photos taken at different exposure levels are combined to produce an amazing high quality image. Another new addition is the ability to upload HD video via Wi-Fi, which previously wasn't supported.

 

Apple also confirmed the update will bring the ability to rent TV episodes on your iPhone and watch them on your device.

 

They have also added Game Center, which seems a response to Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7.  Game Center enables multi-player integration, game match-making, achieviements and the ability to invite freinds to games. A game was also demoed called Game Center, which used the Unreal 3 Engine.

 

A number of bugs will also be fixed by iOS 4.1 including problems with the promixity sensor, Bluetooth and sluggish iPhone 3G performance.

 

They also confirmed a few details about the upcoming iOS 4.2 update, which will  launch in November. This update is aimed at the iPad but will work on the iPhone and iPod.

 

One major addition that iOS 4.2 will bring is the ability to print over a Wi-Fi network, which was something a lot of customers were requesting. Another new feature is AirPlay, which is a renaming of AirTunes, which will allow you to stream videos , photos and music from your iPad to your Apple TV.
