Alcatel Unveil Budget Android Mobile
![]() |
Alcatel have unveiled the OT-980, which is a budget Android mobile that has a sliding QWERTY keypad.
The Alcatel OT-980 runs on Android 2.1 and will cost under £100. As you'd expect for the mobile at this price-point the specification isn't mind boggling.
However, it does have a 2.8 inch touch-screen but sadly it isn't capacitive, which means you need to put that big of extra pressure onto the screen. Other features include Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G and built-in GPS. A 2 mega-pixel camera is present which is the main compromise on the mobile.
In terms of software the OT-980 has social networking support, unified email client , integrated Instant messenger and access to websites.
The Alcatel OT-980 is due to launch next month and as mentioned earlier will be available for around £100.
