Spotify Approved by Apple for the iPhone

Spotify Approved by Apple for the iPhone

1st September , 2009

US : Having initially rejected the Spotify music streaming application to be added to the Apple store, Apple has now approved it. The application has been under scrutiny from Apple as a free music download offering could impact upon iTunes’ downloads.

This means that iPhone users will be able to download digital music from the Apple store to their iPhone. Whilst there are two versions of Spotify – a free edition which carries advertisements and a subscription service which does not carry advertisements – Apple has approved the subscription service only for the iPhone. This will cost ten pounds per month.

Another application recently rejected for addition to the Apple store was the Google Voice application for the iPhone. It will be interesting to see what happens with that now

.
Spotify is a new application, built for the iPhone which is predicted to be the next big thing.
