: ANADIGICS, Inc. announced that the Company is shipping production
volumes of a new indium gallium phosphide heterojunction bipolar transistor
(InGaP) power amplifier (PA) for 450 MHz CDMA applications. This high
performance PA module provides handset manufacturers with a low-power
quiescent current mode that is digitally controlled to reduce power
drain on the system battery, resulting in additional talk time.
"The AWT6136
expands our broad CDMA product portfolio to cover the emerging 450
MHz CDMA 1X / 1xEV-DO markets in Europe and the greater Asia-Pacific
regions," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Vice President of Wireless
Products at ANADIGICS, Inc. "CDMA 1X / 1xEV-DO in the 450 MHz
band offers an extremely attractive business model to operators for
delivery of mobile and fixed-wireless services including high-speed
internet access. Our strategy of addressing the market with best-of-breed
products and tier-one chipset reference design partners is yielding
successful results."
ANADIGICS' AWT6136
CDMA PA modules exhibit excellent efficiency and linearity with a
typical efficiency of 37% at 29.5 dBm output power. The PA module
features a low receive-band noise of -132 dBm/Hz at 10 MHz offset.
The CDMA 2000 1XRTT compliant AWT6136 comes in a 6 mm by 6 mm by 1.5
mm laminate package. This module utilizes ANADIGICS' InGaP HBT technology,
which offers higher linearity, lower temperature sensitivity, and
increased reliability compared with AlGaAs technology.
The AWT6136
is priced at $2.30 in quantities of 10,000 units. Samples are available.
