NetCentrex launched today its direct operations in the Asia-Pacific market. The company also announced that industry veteran Daniel Kwan has been appointed VP of Asia-Pacific. NetCentrex has established its APAC headquarters in Singapore at 9 Raffles Place in Republic Plaza (Tel: 65-6832 5669, Fax: 65-64386495). From this office NetCentrex will support its service provider customers and a growing channel network of distributors, integrators, and partners. Examples of this channel network include Datacraft, one of the largest system integrators in the region, and SunTek, who specializes in homologating next-generation applications such as VoIP VPN and Residential Telephony for the Chinese marketplace. These integrators compliment NetCentrex' existing global partnerships with Cisco Systems, Sonus Networks, and Hewlett-Packard, who have been working closely with NetCentrex to address the needs of service providers in the APAC region. HP, for example, recently deployed NetCentrex CCSTM application softswitch and MCSTM media server in the HP Singapore lab to test and demonstrate joint solutions to prospective and existing service provider customers.

"My appointment shows NetCentrex' commitment to providing local sales and operations support for service providers in this market," said Mr. Kwan. "Working with our partners, we will help customers deploy revenue-enhancing VoIP-based services such as Prepaid Telephony, VoIP VPNs, Residential Telephony, and IPCentrexTM Managed Telephony."

"Mr. Kwan's expertise in this space will ensure that NetCentrex' solutions meet the needs of APAC carriers looking to VoIP as a way to reduce costs and improve profitability," said Tim Steele, NetCentrex president and general manager Americas/Asia. "Kwan's leadership will give us the added focus we need to increase our market penetration in this very dynamic market."

Mr. Kwan brings to NetCentrex more than 17 years of experience in information technology, both in the areas of data and IP telephony. Prior to joining NetCentrex, Mr. Kwan was Managing Director for ADIR Technologies (which acquired NetSpeak Corporation) based in Singapore. While at ADIR Technologies, he led the company's efforts to aggressively market its VOIP application solutions to service providers, build revenue and capture strategic accounts in Asia Pacific. Prior to ADIR, Mr Kwan held positions at ACT Networks, Dynatech Communications, Dowty and IBM. He has a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honors) degree from the University of Windsor Canada.
