New CDMA Wireless Location Solution

CellPoint Inc announced that it has evolved its Mobile Location System (MLS) location product to operate in the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) environment. The basic Cellpoint MLS is shown above.

CellPoint's MLS now has the capability to work on virtually every mobile network in the world. This development is a direct response to demand from CDMA operators that provide service to over 100 million customers worldwide.

CDMA network operators can inexpensively adjust network switches to comply with the new IS-881 location services standard. This adjustment, when combined with CellPoint's technology, allows any mobile handset within a CDMA network to be located. This new capability enables CDMA operators to begin deploying commercial location services to all subscribers, immediately creating revenue-generating opportunities.

CellPoint's MLS, when combined with enhanced mobile phones, such as the A-GPS handsets, meets the E911 Phase II requirements currently mandated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States.
