Launch of i-mode Wireless in France

France's Bouygues Telecom plans to provide mobile internet and email service "i-mode" as early as December after agreement with NTT DoCoMo of Japan. Martin Bouygues confirmed the plan was to begin the service by Xmas, the Nihon Keizai newspaper reported. When Bouygues Telecom and DoCoMo announced their partnership in April, they had planned to launch during the later part of the first quarter of 2003. Bouygues Telecom has about 6.6 million subscribers, making it the third-largest mobile phone company in France.
