Sony Xperia Z1 Mini Resurfaces: Fresh Images and Specs Leaked
Sony Xperia Z1 Mini images and specs have been leaked, it's looking great !
Sony have been making brilliant smartphones for the past year - it all started when they dazzled the world with the waterproof Sony Xperia Z - and then improved the design with its replacement - the Sony Xperia Z1. Last month we reported on rumours that they were planning to launch a new compact version of the Xperia Z1.
Now a couple of images of the Xperia Z1 Mini and a specification have been posted on a Chinese website. Purportedly, they are taken from a Sony product catalogue where the smartphone is being referred to as the Sony Xperia Z1 f . They seem genuine to the crew at 3G, but you can never be totally sure with these things.
Assuming they do hold true then the Xperia Z1 Mini will have a 4.3 inch 1280*720 pixel display, compared to the 5 inch 1920*1080 pixel display featured on its bigger brother. That does it give a significantly lower pixels-per-inch rating (340 v 440) - although, it'll still be a great display.
The only other sacrifices which have been made are to the on-board memory, which has been halved to 16GB - although it can always be expanded using a microSD card. This means that the rest of the smartphone has an identical specification to Sony's power-packed Xperia Z1.
So , the Xperia Z1 Mini will be powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core processor, have 2GB of RAM and will be both water-resistant and dust-proof. It'll also have a stunning 20.7 mega-pixel camera , the same one as featured on the Xperia Z1, complete with Sony G-Lens and it'll feature a front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera.
The battery has been reduced down to 2400 mAH (from 3000mAH) , which should make it significantly lighter than its bigger bother, and presumably it'll be just as thin. When it comes to connectivity it'll support 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC. Like of all of Sony's Xperia Z range, it'll come pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean.
The Xperia Z1 Mini will be available in a wider colour with White, Black, Pink and Lime models being offered. No release date so far, but as soon as we hear more about Sony's compact smartphone you'll be the first to know.
