Sky Go is now available on a 6 new Android smartphones.
A new version of the Sky Go application has been released adding support for a number of recently released Android smartphones, The application enables Sky subscribers to watch live and on-demand TV on their mobiles and is available to download free from Google Play for Sky customers.
A total of six new Android smartphones have been added to Sky Go's supported devices list, they are : HTC One SV, LG G2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sony Xperia M, Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra. It's impressive to see Sky adding support for smartphones so soon after release - with the Xperia Z1, Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2 only just going on sale.
The situation isn't so admirable when it comes to using Sky Go on Android tablets. Just 3 Android tablets are supported by Sky Go , and of those that are supported the experience is underwhelming - it suffers from substandard streaming quality. Sky are working hard behind the scenes to resolve the problem and will release a new 'tablet version' of Sky Go at the end of the year.
We hope Sky continue to evolve the application because it's always good to be able to watch the latest premiership games when your out of the house, or stream Hollywood movies on the train. Hopefully, within the next month Android owners can enjoy the same quality Sky Go experience that's already available on Apple's devices.
