A leaked service manual has given us full details of the Google Nexus 5's specification
We've been reporting on rumours and posting pictures of the Google Nexus 5 for a few months already. However, a new leak has taken our knowledge of Google's next smartphone to a whole new level.
A 281 page service manual for the LG Nexus 5, or Google Nexus 5, was posted by the crew over at AndroidPolice.com. It's since been removed at LG's request - which must be a good indicator that the leaked document was indeed legitimate. So what does it tell us about LG's smartphone ?
Firstly, the document came with a couple of line-drawings of the Google Nexus 5 (posted above). They sit very well with previously leaked images of the smartphone that we reported on earlier this month. The design itself is similar to the LG G2, but with a more conventional button layout - dropping the rear-facing volume-rocker in favour of side-buttons.
Google's Nexus 5 is expected to be unveiled later this month - although, to be honest this leak has left very little to reveal. We've got a pretty comprehensive idea of its specs with the centre-piece being a 4.95 inch 1920*1080 pixel display , which equates to a pixels-per-inch rating of 445 ppi.
Google's mobile devices have always delivered cutting-edge performance and the Nexus 5 is no different - it's powered by a quad-core 2.3 GHz processor and has 2GB of RAM. The leaked manual suggests it'll be available in models with either 16GB or 32GB of on-board memory, both of which will have an 8 mega-pixel rear-facing camera (with OIS) and a front-facing 1.3 mega-pixel snapper.
Battery life should be admirable thanks to the inclusion of a 2300mAh battery and the smartphone comes fully-connected, supporting 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC. Overall, it's a great specification and, if Google adopt their normal aggressive pricing model, it could become one of the best value smartphones available to buy !
As soon as Google and LG officially unveil the Nexus 5 we'll let you know !
