Apple Confirm iPhone 5S Battery Life Issues

Apple's iPhone 5S battery life problems are due to a manufacturing defect

Apple have now officially confirmed that a 'limited number' of their iPhone 5S smartphones are suffering from a battery life problem.

A spokesmen for the Cupertino giant revealed that a small batch of Apple iPhone 5S smartphones have been affected by a 'manufacturing issue' that 'could cause the battery to take longer to charge or result in a reduced battery life'.

They didn't give details on exactly how many smartphones are effected, but did confirm that anyone with a defect iPhone 5S will get a replacement smartphone.

Users who think they might be suffering from the battery problem should contact Apple directly who should be able to quickly confirm or deny the problem based on the iPhone 5S' IMEI number*.

This isn't the first time an Apple device has been plagued by battery issues. The iPhone 4S suffered from a similar problem shortly after its launch, but in that instance it was caused by a software problem that was resolved in a subsequent iOS update.

Initially, iPhone 5S owners suffering from poor battery life thought the problem was caused by Apple's iOS 7 software. Now we now that isn't the case, so anyone with symptoms should contact Apple directly to get themselves a replacement.
