Apple iPad 5 Video Leaked: Thinner, Lighter and More Compact !
The Apple iPad 5 has appeared in a leaked video, giving us a close up look at the tablets' design.
New Apple devices... we all know they are coming, but Apple always manage to keep the details of their next-gen smartphones and tablets secret. Therefore, it's a bonus that we already know so much about the Apple iPad 5, which is expected to be unveiled later this month.
A purported video of the iPad 5's rear-case has now been leaked by a Chinese website, which expands on what we already know about Apple's tablet. The video, posted above, clearly shows that the iPad 5 will adopt a similar design to Apple's iPad Mini - including the mirrored logo, new ergonomic design and a thinner bezel.
The video takes things further by taking a tape measure to the new design. Apple's iPad 5 is 2mm shorter than the iPad 4 with a height of 239.2mm, 15mm narrower with a width of and 2mm thinner with a depth of 7.2mm - thanks to the inclusion of a new thinner display.
The iPad 5's rear-case is also 50g lighter than the one used in the iPad 4 and we sure hope that reduction is retained in the final product. That alone would cut the weight down to around 600g and other improvements could bring it down further - although, it'll have to go some way to be as light as the Sony's Xperia Tablet Z (495g).
The rumoured inclusion of an improved processor and the potential launch of a Gold version have got the crew at 3G very excited about the Apple iPad 5 !
