Earlier this month Microsoft announced a press conference taking place in America where they'll unveil Windows Phone 8 . Now they've confirmed they'll be holding a similar event in the UK on the same day (October 29th).
The event, taking place in London, will be the first chance for UK journalists to get their hands on Microsoft's new operating system and presumably we'll learn when the smartphones will land in stores.
Smartphones nailed on to be showcased at the event include the Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia Lumia 820, Windows Phone 8X by HTC and the Windows Phone 8S by HTC. It's possible Microsoft might showcase some other launch smartphones, but we'll just have to wait and see.
The invitation to the UK event features an LTE logo reflecting the support for the new wireless speeds in select Windows Phone 8 smartphones. So far only the Nokia Lumia 920 and 820 have been confirmed as support 4G LTE and they'll be available in the UK from EE.
3G still arn't sure when the Windows Phone 8 smartphones will hit the stores , but a launch in early November looks the most likely outcome. We'll be reporting on Microsoft's press event tomorrow when all our questions will be answered !
