Sony Xperia U, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola Get Updated !

Android Ice Cream Sandwich

Sony have announced that they've begun rolling out updates for their Sony Xperia U, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola smartphone.

The first part of the update is an upgrade to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which will be greatly appreciated by owners of any of the mid-range smartphones. Owners of the Xperia Go, Xperia Sola and Xperia U will benefit from improved lock-screen functionality, re-sizable widgets, improved data monitoring and a recent apps button thanks to the update.

That alone would be more than enough reason to celebrate , but things get even better because Sony have also released some new unique media applications for the smartphones.

The media applications you get include "Walkman" which enables you to easily organise, play and share your music collection . Additionally, you also get the "Album" application which does a similar job with your videos and photos, while the last application is "Movies" where you can watch the latest films and TV shows on your smartphone.

However, it doesn't end there because Sony have also made their "Extended Standy Mode" available on all three smartphones which can increase the standby time of the smartphones by up to four times.

Sony Xperia Sola owners are extra lucky because they also get "Glove Mode which is a new feature that enables you to use the smartphone when wearing gloves. This will be particularly appreciated in the next of months when the British Winter starts to bite.

Owners of the Xperia Go, Xperia Sola and Xperia U should get notification of the update being available very soon. If it doesn't arrive 3G recommend you connect your smartphone to the Sony PC Companion on your desktop PC.

Three have some great Sony smartphones deals available which you can checkout by clicking here.
