Microsoft Surface - First Advert Launched By Microsoft !

Microsoft have released the first TV advert for its new tablet, the Microsoft Surface. You can view the new advert above, but it won't tell you much about the tablet itself other than it'll launch on October 26th.

The Microsoft Surface is a tablet powered by the new Windows 8 operating system and comes in two variants running on slightly different versions of the platform.

One version has an ARM chip and runs on Windows RT which is a tablet optimised version of Windows 8. While, the other version of the Microsoft Surface runs on Windows 8 Pro and has an Intel chipset offering a fully fledged desktop experience.

Both tablets have a 10.6-inch ClearType HD display running at 1920x1080 pixels and feature a unique kick-stand and removable covers which double as keyboards. The Windows RT version  has a smaller battery (31.5 W-h) and is thinner (9.6mm) and lighter (676g) than the Windows 8 Pro version (42 W-h, 13.5mm and 903g respectively).

The Windows RT version of the Surface will be available with either 32 or 64GB of on-board memory, while the Windows 8 Pro model will come with 64 or 128GB of storage. We presume that the Windows RT powered Surface will be more affordable than the other model, but we've yet to get any confirmation on pricing.

As soon as 3G gets any fresh information about Microsoft's Surface tablets we'll let you know.
