The Nokia N9 is a great smartphone but sadly it launched  at totally the wrong time. Infact, pretty much as soon as it was put into production Nokia announced they'd be dropping the MeeGo operating system in favour of Microsoft's Windows Phone 7.

Since then the fate of the Nokia N9 hasn't picked up because no UK operators choose to stock the mobile. It's such a shame because both the operating system and the phone itself show great potential.

Now Nokia have now released a new video showcasing just how easy it is to use NFC on your Nokia N9 smartphone. In the video the Nokia N9 is paired with a Nokia speaker and the process takes just seconds.

NFC will be a huge growth area over the next couple of years and we'd expect it to become ubiquitous in shops for making small purchases. 3G wouldn't be surprised if it eclipsed Bluetooth as a method for sharing files, but the security does need to be tested more thoroughly.
