The headlines news from Nokia World has been the unveiling of Nokia' first Windows Smartphones (Lumia 800 and Lumia 710), but they've also unveiled a new affordable range of smartphones called the Asha.
The Nokia Asha range is aimed primarily at emerging markets and feature the Symbian 40 operating system. We're not sure whether any of the mobiles will come to the UK, but 3G wouldn't be surprised to see the 300 range coming to these shores.
Four new Acha smartphones were showcased with the Nokia Asha 303 being at the top of the range. The Asha 303 (pictured above) has a 2.6 inch capacitive touch-screen , as well as a full QWERTY keyboard.
It's powered by a 1GHz processor and supports both 3G and WLAN which will enable fast social networking and rapid web-browsing. Infact, it comes with Nokia Browser which sends web-pages to Nokia's server before displaying them on your mobile which reduces the data used and the time they take to load.
Other features of the Asha 303 includes a 3.2 mega-pixel camera, FM radio and microSD support. The Asha 303 is expected to cost around 115 Euros (£100) and will start shipping in the 4th quarter of 2011.

The second mobile unveiled was the Nokia Asha 300 that comes with a 2.4 inch touch-screen and a keypad, while like the 303 it has a 1 GHz processor and supports 3G. The Nokia Browser also comes pre-loaded so you can expect excellent browsing speeds.
A 5 mega-pixel camera is featured on the Asha 300, while it also has an FM radio, Bluetooth and supports microSD cards up to 32GB. The Nokia Asha 300 will cost 85 Euros (£75) and will also start shipping in the 4th quarter of 2011.
The final two mobiles are really affordable mobiles with the Nokia Asha 200 (pictured above) being a dual-SIM smartphone. It's aimed at young consumers looking for a way to constantly stay in touch.
It comes in a choice of vibrant colours and has a full QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4 inch display. Other features include a 2 mega-pixel camera, FM radio and microSD support. Like the other Asha mobiles the 200 supports the Nokia Browser and a vast array of social networking applications.
The Nokia Asha 201 is a single SIM-version of the Asha 200 and is identical in every other way. Both the Acha 200 and 201 will cost 60 Euros (£52) and will launch in the fourth quarter of 2011.
