The Apple iPhone 4S was only announced yesterday evening but we now know it will be available on 3 of the major UK networks.

Apple's new iPhone will launch in the UK on October 14th and pre-orders will be available on O2 from October 7th. Sadly, the prices haven't been released yet but a 16GB iPhone 4S costs £499 direct from Apple.

The iPhone 4S will also be available on Vodafone,  but it's not clear what exact date it will be on sale. Vodafone stated it'll be available "shortly after launch", which we assumes means a few days but we can't be sure.

Furthermore, Three have confirmed they'll be stocking the iPhone 4S which means you'll be able to take advantage of the "One Plan" with unlimited data. Again we're not entirely sure whether it'll be available on October 14th, but once more information arrives we'll let you know.

The iPhone 4S improves on the previous iPhone in a number of ways including having a dual-core processor, improved 8 mega-pixel camera and a larger 4.5 inch touch-screen. However, you'd have to say that the biggest improvement is in the upgrade to iOS 5 and the introduction of Siri.

Siri is a new voice-control system that you can ask questions to or give orders to carry out mobile functions. For example you can order Siri to set a reminder or ask him what the weather is like. The iPhone 4S also comes with iCloud which automatically backs up and syncs your files across all your Apple devices.

As soon as we get news of the prices or more detail about the launch of the iPhone 4S on any of the networks we'll let you know.
