Google are thought to be in negotiations with all four of the major record labels so it can launch its own music store, presumably called Google Music Store.
According to the Wallstreetjournal Google are in discussions with Sony, Warner, Universal and EMI. It's thought they are close to a deal with EMI, but the rest of the talks are still in the early stags.
With Amazon and Apple already gaining revenue across all platforms from their music stores it seems a good idea for Google to get in on the act. We'd expect Google try and gets its music store on all platforms including Windows , Android, iTunes and Blackberry mobiles.
However, we have a feeling Apple may fail to authorise the service on its devices because it would compete directly with iTunes.
We're all for any new music stores or application stores that surface because it means more competition and ultimately lower prices.
Once we get more news about a Google Music store we'll let you know,.
