Google Ice Cream Sandwich Arrives At Headquarters
Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Google, Google Android
![]() |
Google have added a new statue to its lawn at its headquarters , which is a tradition they follow before the launch of its operating systems. A statue of an Ice Cream has appeared outside Google's HQ reflecting the imminent launch of Ice Cream Sandwich.
Android Ice Cream Sandwich is a new version of Google's operating system which is a unified Android operating system that will be available on both tablets and smartphones.
In the past Google has released a smartphone specific OS (Android Gingerbread) and a tablet version (Android Honeycomb). However, releasing a unified version is better for developers because they can make one application that will work across both devices.
The release date for Ice Cream Sandwich hasn't been given yet , but the first mobile to run on the new OS is expected to be the Google Nexus Prime.
