Blackberry have announced that owners of their smartphones will be able to download a range of premium applications to compensate them for the recent problems with Blackberry's email and messenger service.

Many customers have been incredibly angry at the recent downtime that took place due to an unknown error with a server in Slough. The downtime affected the email and Blackberry Messenger client and hit users across Europe , Africa and Asia.

The free applications include a range of premium applications coming to a value of £64. Applications included in the free list include: The Sims 3, Bejeweled, N.O.V.A., Texas Hold Em Poker 2, Bubble Bash 2, Photo Editor Ultimate, iSpeech Translator Pro and Shazam Encore.

The new apps will be available to download from Blackberry App World from Wednesday , so head on over to claim your free applications.
