Late last month we suggested the Palm Pre 2 was in production and new rumours that have surfaced online have given more details about the new device.

The French mobile network SFR, who one assumes have good contacts, have suggested that the new mobile is in production and even leaked a basic specification.

The Palm Pre 2 will have a very similar appearance and form to the original Palm Pre , but will run on the new Palm WebOS 2.0 operating system.

There will be a number of improvements that will bring the smartphone up to recent mobile standards including a 1 GHz mobile processor, which is upgraded from the 600MHz CPU in the original Palm Pre.  The RAM will also be doubled from 256MB to 512MB which will ensure better multi-tasking and quicker loading times.

One other change rumoured is that the screen will now be much flatter than before , which will reduce glare and improve the overall viewing experience. The only other thing known about the Palm Pre 2 is that it will have a USB port.
