FourSquare 2.0 Now Available On Android
![]() |
A new version of the FourSquare application is now available on Android mobiles.
Foursquare is an application that enables you to "check-in" your physical location to tell others where you are. It's very similar to the Facebook places application that recently attracted a lot of criticism because of its invasion of privacy.
Foursquare also gives users rewards for checking in more often by giving badges which appear on your profile. The application was also used in a competition to win a Nokia N8 where you had to check-in on the demo mobiles in Nokia stores.
The main use of the application is to show users where you've been so if you liked a restaurant you can check-in to show your friends where it is. Additionally, you can use the application to see when your friends are in your area and can contact them to meet up.
The new version emphasises the use of tips which gives you a chance to discover new places recommended by your friends and also has a ranking system to see which are the top venues.
You can download Foursquare from the Android market right now.
