Back in July we posted an article confirming that Android Market had over 70K Apps upon it. 3 months later it has reached the significant milestone of 100K Apps.

The main players for App Stores are Apple which has over  185K Apps in the iPhone App Store and Google which has over 100K Apps in the Android Market store. At this point we have to wonder have all these Apps being downloaded or are they just sitting in "App cyberspace".

The Android App reporting specialists, Androlib, have statistics on their website showing that so far in October this year, the total number of Apps added to Android Market is 17,765.

The next likely target for App makers and distributors is to get their App onto the Windows Phone 7 App store which you could consider to be in its infancy stage. We expect a sharp surge in the number of Windows Phone 7 Apps.
