3 UK To Exit Managed Network Services Contract

Its being reported that 3 UK will end its 3G network managed services contract with Sony Ericsson once the current contract finishes.
Global Telecoms Business has learnt that the deal will end in 2012. The managed services contract commenced in 2005 and is potentially worth £1.7 Billion.

3 UK's 3G network has been undergoing an upgrade and the first part of this upgrade has been completed with the mobile operator now having 12,400 3G sites live. This adds much needed capacity to cities and gives greater coverage to rural areas and has cost £400 million pounds so far.
