ASIA : A 3G company is seeking to further expand into ASIA and Europe via new investment funding. Stoke Inc. has received further investment funding of 20 million US dollars from two investment brokers i.e. DOCOMO Capital and Mobile Internet Capital.

Inset is Vikash Varma, CEO at Stoke who is quoted below.

Stoke designs and develops 3G mobile broadband gateways to enable 3G mobile operators ( mobile and converged )  to produce maximum revenues via their 3G wireless networks.

The new investment funding for Stoke will be used to facilitate Stoke’s 3G commercial deployments in the Pacific / Asia regions and also for Stoke’s new 3G offload projects which will launch soon in Western Europe.

NTT DoCoMo awarded a contract to Stoke in June this year for a number of advanced 3G mobile broadband gateways for NTT DoCoMo’s commercial 3G network deployments.

The gateways form part of a new infrastructure allowing NTT DOCOMO to provide improved service, expand accessibility for users, and enhance the company's ability to manage mobile broadband traffic on their RAN and backhaul infrastructure.

Tomoya Hemmi, President and CEO of DOCOMO Capital said "Our mission is to invest in the future of mobile technology. Stoke is an exciting, advanced and leading edge solution provider with the potential to improve the abilities of operators to be more competitive in future mobile communications markets."

DOCOMO Capital is a corporate venture arm of NTT DOCOMO, the world's leading mobile operator. Mobile Internet Capital, Japan's leading venture capital company focusing on the wireless communication sector, includes NTT DOCOMO among its main investors.

"Stoke is delivering advanced and unique solutions for the immediate requirements of mobile data offload, femtocell deployment and transition to LTE. Our recent commercial deployments represent a strong validation of our technology and underscore our vision of leadership in this space," commented Vikash Varma, President and CEO at Stoke.

Mobile data service provider companies are increasingly turning to Stoke's all-IP, converged access technology to address the data glut challenging carrier networks worldwide. Following its first commercial deployments in late 2008, Stoke has experienced a triple digit increase in revenues.
