"We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of LMI, bringing additional, subject matter expertise on board to strengthen our European presence," said WatchMark President & CEO Todd Eliason. "We believe LMI's performance management product and high-value services capabilities are highly complementary to WatchMark's strengths in delivering service assurance solutions to more than 100 global customers, including Cingular Wireless, Verizon Wireless, Eurotel and T-Mobile." "We are very excited about joining WatchMark to augment their European presence with a team of experienced wireless professionals. Like WatchMark, we are focused on the impact service assurance solutions have on a network operator's business, especially as we move into new networks and new data service offerings," said LMI CEO Magnus Johansson. "We believe WatchMark's wireless domain expertise, their focus on delivering quality, feature-rich service assurance solutions and their desire to both displace legacy performance management systems and win early `greenfield' 3G opportunities are very consistent with our strengths." LMI has proven expertise in GSM/GPRS and WCDMA based third-generation networks and has worked intimately with the 3G-license application process for winning bids as well as the subsequent network planning, vendor selection, network management and build up of several of the license grantees. LMI has established itself as one of the leading performance management UMTS/3G experts in Europe. The company has built innovative features into its core performance management offering, PAM Pi, which are complementary to WatchMark Prospect(R). WatchMark will incorporate PAM Pi into its product line. "LMI has an excellent relationship and reputation with WatchMark's strategic partner Ericsson, strong relationships with other European global network operators, technical knowledge of Siemens, Nokia and Ericsson interfaces, and relationships with these key network equipment providers which we will continue to leverage," said Robert Nilsson, WatchMark vice president of global channels and alliances. "The LMI team includes both business and technical consultants who help develop roadmap decisions for new technologies such as GPRS, EDGE and UMTS. We believe they'll provide tremendous support for our alliances and customer relationships and that they'll help us win business in Europe." LMI will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of WatchMark and will operate under the WatchMark brand name. LMI employees, all of whom have accepted positions with WatchMark, will continue to operate out of Stockholm delivering consulting, development and integration support to partners and customers to complement and enhance sales, customer support, and R&D resources at WatchMark's European headquarters in St. Alban's, UK.
