There has been a low level but increasing trend for smartphone and tablet manufacturers to have a dig at each other.
We saw Samsung mocking the Apple fan boys at the time of the launch of the iPhone 5. The video promo showed those queing to buy an iPhone 5 were shown some of the features that the Galaxy S3 had over the iPhone 5 e.g. NFC and an infrared port.
Another example is when Nokia criticised Apple’s colour range for the newly launched iPhone 5c by posting a picture of its Lumia colour range on Twitter and wrote “Imitation is the best form of flattery.”
The latest development in this trend shows a Nokia promo for the Lumia 2520 tablet in which Nokia have a dig at the Apple iPad Air and highlight some good stuff about its tablet. The promo can be viewed below.
The promo shows a new iPad Air owner meeting his mates in a cafe who all approve of his new tablet. The iPad owner starts working away but doesn’t find it easy to get much done so he switches to a laptop. Later we see the iPad Air running out of battery juice.
He then spots another person using a tablet in the café and guess what it’s the Nokia Lumia 2520. The person using the Nokia Lumia 2520 is fired up with a Power Keyboard which makes working so much easier and there an extra 5 hours battery time via the large 8,000mAh battery included.
After having seen the setup with the Nokia Lumia 2520 the iPad Air user may be asking if he took the right option.
