Microsoft might have released Windows Phone 8, but that doesn't mean the end of support for those with a Windows Phone 7 smartphone. Infact, Windows Phone 7.8 is rumoured to be landing tomorrow on supported smartphones !

The update to Windows Phone 7.8 will bring a number of new features including introducing the new Windows Phone 8 interface. That'll include new "Live-Tiles" sizes which enables even more customisation of the home-screen.

Details on the update are pretty scarse , but it's also rumoured to include new lock-screen features which enable you to display live application updates. For example, you'd be able to view social networking updates directly on your lock-screen.

Other new features rumoured to come as part of the update include Bluetooth file-sharing support, an MP3 editor and security updates for the web-browser. It goes without saying that it'll also include a number of bug fixes and overall speed improvements.

So far we only know that the Nokia Lumia 900 will benefit from the update to Windows Phone 7.8, but as soon as 3G get news about what other smartphones will be updated we'll let you know.

In related news Microsoft are also thought to be working on an updated to Windows Phone 8 which should roll-out early next year. When we hear more about the update you'll be the first to know.
