Sony To Launch Smartphone To Challenge iPhone 5

By Simon Thomas on 20th November 2012

Sony are going to unveil a true challenger to the iPhone 5 and Galaxy SIII very soon according to information being reported by Crave.

The website  spotted an interview given by Sony Executive Dennis van Schie with the German version of the Financial Times. In the interview Schie commented that ""We will create in the near future a flagship Sony model that can compete with Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S3".

The new Sony Xperia flagship smartphone is expected to be unveiled in January at CES , which is taking place in Las Vegas. We don't have any details on what specification and new features Sony's new smartphone will have, but we're expecting something special.

Sony have just launched the Xperia T which is a premium Android smartphone that is featured on the new Bond film Skyfall. However, Sony obviously feel that the smartphone hasn't succeeded in challenging Samsung and Apple's flagship devices !

In the same interview Van Schie also stated that Sony would consider making Windows smartphone if the Windows Phone 8 platform proves to be a success.  He also unveiled that the company is already  developing a Windows smartphone to reduce the time needed to get to market should they ever wish to release a Windows mobile.

3G will keep you up to date on all the latest developments regarding Sony and will be reporting from all the breaking news from CES in January !
