Samsung's Galaxy S3 has been a huge success so it comes as no surprise to hear that Samsung are planning to launch a successor to the smartphone. Infact, we've already reported on a couple of rumours regarding the Galaxy S4 this month.
Now new benchmarks have been posted on Nena.se of a device called the Samsung GT-I9525 , which is thought to be the Galaxy S4. Our instincts tell us it's pretty early to see benchmarks appearing, but we''ll document them nonetheless.
According to the benchmarks the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have 1280*720 pixels touch-screen display , which conflicts with information we've previously heard about Samsung's smartphone. Previous leaks suggested that the Galaxy SIV would have a 5 inch touch-screen running at a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels.
The benchmarks also show that the Galaxy S4 will have a 1.8 GHz processor, although they don't reveal how many cores the device will have. Previous information suggested the Galaxy S4 would have a 2 GHz quad-core chip, so it's possible that the one benchmarked is under-clocked slightly.
One thing that gives us more confidence is that the smartphone benchmarked was running on Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) , which is the version that'll come pre-loaded on the Galaxy S4. Samsung's Galaxy S4 is also rumoured to have a 13 mega-pixel camera and will support 4G, but this isn't documented in the benchmarks.
Our instincts tell us that these benchmarks were conducted on a very early prototype of the Galaxy S4 and that the finished article will be very different from the model tested. As soon as 3G hear any new information about the Galaxy S4 you'll be the first to know !
