The Huawei Ascend W1 was first leaked back in September before reappearing in October. That made us believe we'd see the Windows smartphone launching this year, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
New rumours, being reported by Unwired View, suggest that Huawei won't unveil the Ascend W1 until CES 2013 . The event begins on January 8th in Las Vegas, so that's the earliest we can expect to see the smartphone available to buy !
We still don't have any concrete information about the Huawei Ascend W1, but the leak gave details of the rumoured specification. The Ascend W1 is essentially a mid-range Windows Phone 8 smartphone and it should cost around £200.
So what do you get for your money ? Well, firstly it's rumoured to have a 4 inch touch-screen (800×480 pixels) , while it'll be powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and have 512MB of RAM. While on-board memory will come in at 4GB which will be expandable using microSD cards.
The Ascend W1 will come pre-loaded with Windows Phone 8 which is the very latest version of Microsoft's operating system. While it'll also have a 5 mega-pixel camera for taking snaps to upload to your favourite social network.
3G will let you know as soon as we hear more about the Huawei Ascend W1. It's also possible that it'll support 4G, but it's unlikely that a mid-range smartphone would support the new wireless technology.
