The Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini was unveiled in the first half of October and it now looks like it'll launch on November 8th in the UK.
Online retailer Expansys are already taking pre-orders on Samsung's compact smartphone where it's listed as shipping on November 8th. We presume this will be the date when the smartphone will launch on O2, who've already added the mobile to its "Coming Soon" page.
So far O2 are the only UK operator to confirm they'll be carrying the S3 Mini and they've yet to unveil what tariffs it'll be available on. However, do do know that SIM-free the smartphone will be priced around £300 so we can expect it to be available on mid-range tariffs.
You can learn more about the SIII Mini on O2's store by clicking here.
When we first heard about the SIII Mini we expected a smaller version of the SIII which would compete directly with Apple's iPhone. However, that's not really what we got because it has a significantly lower spec than Apple's device.
The Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini has a 4 inch Super AMOLED touch-screen (800 * 480 pixels) and is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor. The smartphone also has a 5 mega-pixel camera, a front-facing VGA camera and comes with either 8 or 16GB of on-board memory.
Supported connectivity includes 3G, WiFi, NFC and 4G LTE , although the latter won't be supported on the on O2. While it comes pre-loaded with Android Jelly Bean meaning it benefits from all the latest in operating system technology.
We hope to review the Galaxy SIII Mini very soon so stay posted to find out how the smartphone stacks up.
