Microsoft have launched a Windows Phone 7 demo that you can view on your Apple iOS device or Android smartphone.

The demo of the Windows Phone operating system takes place on a web-site using HTML5 technology.

If you visit the site on your mobile you can test all the major features of the Windows Phone 7 Mango operating system including People , Messaging, Calender, Pictures and Outlook through interactive demos.

The demo is touch-enabled so it'll feel just like your using the Windows Operating system on your iPhone or Android smartphone.

Sadly, you won't be able to view your own data or make calls , but you can make a pretend call and the demo still gives you a good test-drive of the Windows Phone interface.

The Windows Phone operating system has been struggling to gain market share  so Microsoft are keen to do anything they can to get more people using it. This demo is one of the most novel ideas 3G has come across and we wouldn't be surprised to see its competitors developing their own demo websites.
