O2 have confirmed that the Xperia X10 will be getting upgradable to Android Gingerbread (2.3) on its network.
The update will be available in a week's time to owners of the Xperia X10 , which is quite something considering the age and specification of the smartphone.
Infact, the update has taken so long to be released because of how difficult it has been to get the it running on the X10. When it was first issued the camera wouldn't function at all and O2 are warning customers that updating to Gingerbread might make their mobile run slower than normal.
However, you can always rollback to Android Froyo if you arn't happy with the Gingerbread update so 3G would advise Xperia X10 owners to test the update and see if they are happy with it.
In order to download the Android Gingerbread update you need to visit the O2 support section for the Xperia X10 a week from now.
