Siri Taking Away Google Traffic ?

iPhone 4S Siri

A recent study conducted has brought up an interesting insight regarding Siri. Apple developed Siri to make using your iPhone 4S easier and to sell smartphones, but could it also be taking traffic away from Google.

When using Siri you arn't going to Google to find what your looking for because you just ask your iPhone 4S to find the answer for you. In a very small study, which can't be generalised, it was found that 50 per cent of iPhone 4S owners havn't undertaken a single Google search on their smartphone.

Even though the study itself isn't very useful, we would expect a lot of users not to bother manually going to Google when they just ask the iPhone 4S by voice recognition.

3G would be interested to see just how many Google searches are conducted by iPhone 4S users compared to those with the iPhone 4 , which lacks Siri.

If the addition of Siri has reduced Google's search-engine share then Apple will be very pleased because Google's Android operating system is the main competitor to their iOS operating system.

Hopefully, this article will prompt a full-study to be conducted and if Apple see the results they may even be tempted to make an assault on the search-engine market !
