Pressreader has now been made available for the Blackberry Playbook and can be downloaded free from the Blackberry App World. Infact, the application will be pre-loaded onto the device when its OS is next upgraded.

Pressreader enables you to read over 1,900 newspapers from across the world on your Playbook including : The Washington Post, The Daily Mail, Irish Times, The Herald and many more.

The application enables you to flick through pages like your reading a real newspaper, as well as zooming on texts and photos and to navigate through articles using a table of contents.

You can choose to pay for single editions of newspapers for $0.99 (0.62p) or subscribe to all the papers for $29.95 (£18.25) , which enables you to auto-download up to 5 papers and access up to 14 back-issues of each newspaper. Pressreader also offer Corporate and Professional subscriptions, but these costs significantly more.

£18.25 for access to over 1,900 papers seems like good value to the guys at 3G when you consider you pay around £1 a day for a standard British newspaper.
