Opera have announced that their Opera Mini browser continues to grow in popularity and has recently achieved over 1 million active users in another 11 countries, bringing the total number up to 22.

Additionally, Opera reported that over 140 million people used Opera Mini  in the last month, which is a massive 83 per cent increase on last year. Last month users viewed over 86 billion pages using Opera Mini which is a 103 per cent increase on last year !

The latest version of Opera Mini is available for Android, Blackberry, Apple iOS devices and Symbian devices, with Windows smartphones being the only major omission.

One of the main reasons for Opera's success is that Opera compresses web-pages before sending them to your smartphone meaning loading times are faster and data use is lower.
