Nokia unveiled their first two Windows smartphones late last month and they've now confirmed that Nokia Maps will be available for Windows mobiles.

However, this is different from Nokia Drive which is available on all Lumia smartphones. In essence Nokia Drive is the premium version with offline maps and voice navigation, while Nokia Maps is the version available for all other Windows smartphones.

That still doesn't stop it being good news for Windows smartphone owners who previously had to use Bing, which isn't quite up to the standard of Nokia Maps.

As we mentioned earlier the offline maps and voice navigation won't be available on Windows mobiles, but Nokia Maps still has some great features.

Nokia Maps points out nearby Points Of Interest, such as restaurants and landmarks, and provides you with phone numbers, reviews and photos. You also still get amazingly detailed 2D and 3D maps so you can easily find the way to your destination !

Nokia Maps for Windows smartphones is expected to launch very soon and once 3G gets more information we'll pass it on.
