An image has leaked online that is being  purported as showing the Nokia Lumia 601, which is a new Windows smartphone.

The image shows a sleek smartphone in Cyan, which is quickly becoming the trademark of Nokia's Windows smartphones. The only other thing that can be derived from the image is that the Nokia Lumia  601 will have an 8 mega-pixel camera.

However, this is where we become a little suspicious of the image. We heard in the past that Nokia's Lumia range would follow a similar naming method to BMW cars, so the 601 would have a lower-spec than both the Nokia Lumia 710 and 800.

If that's the case then why does the Nokia 601 have an 8 mega-pixel camera , which is significantly better than the 5 mega-pixel camera of the Lumia 710. However, the picture could still hold true because it may be worse in many other ways, but be aimed at those looking for a good camera.

We're just gonna have to wait to see if the picture above is of the Nokia 601 and once 3G gets any fresh information we'll pass it on.
