Android Gingerbread (2.3) is now available to download on the Motorola Atrix.
The Gingerbread update is long overdue and has been available to Atrix owners in the US for sometime and its taken so long to launch that Ice Cream Sandwich has now eclipsed the OS.
However, it's better late than never and we're sure that Motorola Atrix owners will be grateful to see the upgrade.
Owners of the Atrix should be prompted to download the update automatically, but can manually check by going into Settings and navigating to System Updates. It should be noted that the update is only currently available to SIM-free owners of the Atrix and that those with T-Mobile and Orange versions will have to wait a little longer.
The Motorola Atrix is a novel smartphone that slots into a laptop dock, which has a huge 11.6 inch screen and a full keyboard. The smartphone itself has a 4 inch touch-screen, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and a 5 mega-pixel camera.
