Apple Confirms iPhone 4S Battery Issues
![]() |
We brought you news a couple of days ago that many iPhone 4S users were reporting rapid drops in battery life on the iPhone 4S.
Since then Apple has been working with affected users and kept the problem relatively low-key, but they've no officially confirmed there is a problem affecting the battery life of the new iPhone.
Apple have also announced they'll shortly be releasing a software update to correct the problem. The exact details about the cause of the problems arn't available, but we were led to believe the issue is that the iPhone 4's location services are constantly running to set the local time.
That is a viable cause because the location services uses both WiFi and aGPS to work out your current location. However, other users are reporting that disabling the automatic time-correction feature isn't fixing the battery life issue.
Once Apple release more information about the problem or release a fix you'll hear about it first at 3G.co.uk.
