Samsung Galaxy Tab

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has officially launched across the UK and is available from a number of network operators including O2, Vodafone and Tesco Mobile.

O2 has made the device available for £599, which is over the retail price we expected. However, when you buy from O2 you get the benefit of all its Cloud Wi-Fi hotspots. For just £5 a month you can have unlimited access to O2 Wi-Fi hotspots, which is a good deal.

Other tariffs on O2 include 1GB of data for £10 a month and 2GB of data for £15 a month both coming with unlimited Wi-Fi. All contracts are on a rolling 1 month deal.

Vodafone are offering the device significantly cheaper than O2 with it costing just £499.

However, with the Vodafone tariffs you don't get any Wi-Fi access which may be a big downside for some users. However, you can get 1GB of data for £10 a month or 3GB for £15 a month on a rolling 30 day contract. They also offer a £25 month contract which gets you 5GB of data.

Tesco are also selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab and have priced the device at £529, which lies in between the O2 and Vodafone prices.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is Samsungs first internet tablet and runs on the Android operating system (version 2.2). A 7 inch touch-screen is present which when combined with Adobe Flash 10.1 support it provides an excellent browsing experience. The Tab supports both 3G and WiFi for connecting to the web, as well as Bluetooth.

Other features include a 1 Ghz processor,  front facing 3 mega-pixel camera, rear facing 1.3 mega-pixel camera and full Adobe Flash 10.1 support.
