Facebook for BlackBerry has been updated to version 1.9. and now comes with Facebook Places support. Version 1.9 of Facebook for BlackBerry is compatible with BlackBerry devices operating BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 or higher.

The latest version of Facebook for BlackBerry offers the following improvements :

• - Facebook Places now lets you share your location with friends
• - Messages list allows you to view your Facebook messages list
• - Searching now lets you search for pages and friends
• - The Friends and Pages screen has been redeveloped so you view the Pages list directly.

Facebook Places lets users "check in" to their desired locations e.g. football ground, you can comment on check ins and tag your friends as well as view whose at each location.
