UK : iPhone sales are expected to surge now that it’s available on multiple operators.
A Canalys analyst at the recent Canalys mobile conference suggested that after a long period of exclusivity, like the iPhone has enjoyed, sales are likely to increase rapidly in the months following the end of exclusivity.
The forecast is based on what happened to the iPhone in France, where the phone benefited from a huge increase in sales after exclusivity ceased.
The reasons for this are thought to be that many people were interested in the iPhone but unwilling or unable to switch operators due to favoritism or bad coverage.
If the increase in Sales does arrive then the iPhone could easily become the best selling smartphone in the UK.
When the iPhone launched on Orange it broke the first day sales record, selling over 30,000 units.
Consumers will soon have the choice of three networks to buy the iPhone on, when Vodafone launch it at the start of next year.
You can buy the iPhone on from O2 by clicking here or from Orange by clicking here.
