Europe Finland : Elektrobit introduces Base Station Interface Tester, the first commercial test solution providing comprehensive support for verifying the functionality and performance of OBSAI RP3 and RP3-01 interfaces. Elektrobit Base Station Interface Tester can be used to emulate OBSAI RP3, RP3-01 and RP1 (timing) interfaces enabling the development and verification of individual RF or Baseband modules without the presence of other base station parts. The applications also include analysis of RP3 and RP3-01 data transmission between modules of running base station, supporting system integration and enabling monitoring and analysis of field operation. Utilization of Base Station Interface Tester helps to minimize test development efforts, allowing engineers to focus on product development and therefore shortens time-to-market. Base Station Interface Tester supports simultaneous testing of up to four active RP3 or RP3-01 links at line rates 768, 1536 and 3072 Mbps defined by OBSAI. The tester can operate both in master and slave modes for RP1 synchronization and timing. Interface analyser features include BER measurements, analysis of RP1 timing and testing of synchronization capability. Received interface data can be captured according to user defined triggering rules and viewed as waveforms in a logic analyser window with color coding for erroneous data. The tester’s advanced features also include simulation of rarely occurring error situations. Error recovery of the design can thus be tested in a controlled manner, improving product reliability in the field. “OBSAI welcomes Elektrobit Base Station Interface Tester,” says Tero Mustala, Chairman of OBSAI. “The introduction of a test solution that supports independent module development and verification of interoperability strengthens the status of OBSAI as the key base station architecture of the future.” Traditionally, testing base station modules prior to the system integration phase has required proprietary in-house testers. With Elektrobit Base Station Interface Tester, the established wireless infrastructure and module developers, as well as new market entrants, can now easily verify the functionality and performance of their WCDMA and WiMAX design. |
